Shootout Event Information

Update: Per the Tulsa Fire Marshall, all teams must have a fully functioning Fire Extinguisher in their Pit Area at all times. One per trailer is required.

What is the Tulsa Shootout?

The Tulsa Shootout in Tulsa, Oklahoma is the largest event for micro sprint racing in the world.

Going into the 38th year of this prestigious event, many drivers dream of bringing home the Golden Driller. With the numbers of entries growing every year, the event record stands 1,739 entries received for the 2022 event. Of those, 1,661 were confirmed. The number of entries has exceeded the millennium mark since 2015. With such a massive following, the Tulsa Shootout is an event for every race fan and driver to experience.

A multi-day event that encompasses 6 different racing classes including 600cc Outlaw Winged and Non-Winged Micros, 600cc Stock Winged and Non-Winged Micros, Restricted Micros, and the exciting Junior Sprint class for the kids from 6-12, you’ll see drivers from all over the country in attendance, ranging from amateur to professional, ages 6 to 60! Invite your friends, invite your family. This is something you do not want to miss!

When does the Tulsa Shootout take place?

The event takes place just day after Christmas. Normally, the Tulsa Shootout runs over the New Year's Weekend, making it the first Dirt Track event contested in North America.

Where does the Tulsa Shootout happen?

The Tulsa Shootout takes place inside the SageNet Center in Tulsa, Okla. A temporary dirt track, known as Tulsa Expo Raceway, is constructed for both the Tulsa Shootout and Chili Bowl Nationals that takes place the second week of January. Track, Grandstands, Rigs, Cars, and more are all housed inside the massive temperature controlled facility.

Where can I get tickets to the Tulsa Shootout

Tickets are sold at the event. All seats are General Admission with seating along the front stretch, turns three and four, and the back stretch. All times and cost for the Grandstands can be found at http://www.tulsashootout.com/about/

Is the Tulsa Shootout shown live anywhere?

Yes, the Tulsa Shootout is live streamed online on http://www.FloRacing.com The broadcast is a PPV event. The Tulsa Shootout is also is filmed for broadcast on the MAVTV Motorsports Network. Typically, the TV broadcast is broken up into two shows and features the final night's A-Mains. The first one-hour show is shown two weeks after the event.

Is live timing available for the Tulsa Shootout?

Fuel Notice For All Teams

In compliance with our contract with the Tulsa Fairgrounds, ALL participants MUST run fuel purchased from Simons Petroleum at the Event. This fuel, containing 10% ethanol, will improve the air quality inside the building. Fuel will be checked in the staging area & any infractions will result in disqualification of car and driver. A colored dye will be added to the fuel for the purpose of enforcing the rule. There will be no exceptions and this will be monitored by the Tulsa Fairgrounds. NO outside fuel will be permitted. Any trailers found to be transporting fuel into the building will be escorted from the premises by the Tulsa Fire Marshall.
