Amantea Racing Four Classes This Week During Fourth Visit to Tulsa Shootout

Inside Line Promotions – MT. POCONO, Pa. (Dec. 27, 2021) – Joey Amantea is aiming for success and survival during the 37th annual Lucas Oil Tulsa Shootout this week.
Amantea is tackling the Winged Outlaw, Non-Wing Outlaw, Winged ‘A’ Class and Stock Non-Wing divisions during the marquee micro sprint event, which runs Wednesday through Saturday inside the River Spirit Expo Center in Tulsa, Okla.
“This is our fourth year of going and it’s our last year of planning to go,” he said. “We’re going to make the show. That’s my goal. Our motors run right. Every year we’ve been fast, but had terrible luck.
“I think two years ago we made almost all the qualifiers and the B Mains, but we got destroyed in every single one of them. A lot can go wrong in a hurry at this event so you have to be lucky as well as good.”
A record number of entries are invading the spectacle, which is the first event for Amantea since the first weekend in November.
“It’s nice to have something to do and to keep busy,” he said. “I like keeping busy with the cars. We might throw some February racing in with all the wingless races that have come out so this is something in the middle of the long break during the offseason.”
