Tulsa Shootout Schedule Change

Non-Wing Outlaw and "A" Class Heats on Thursday Evening

TULSA, Okla. (December 21, 2010) – With the first all open-wheel edition of the storied Tulsa Shootout at the QuikTrip Center’s Tulsa Expo Raceway little more than a week away, a change to the schedule of events has become necessary with the strong turnout of entries from throughout the country.

While practice for all eight classes, including six divisions of Micro Sprints, the 1200cc Mini Sprints and the ECOTech Midgets, is still set for Thursday, December 30, heat races for the Non-Wing Outlaw and “A” Class Micro Sprints will now take place on Thursday evening, with racing action getting under way at 5:00 p.m.

Heat races for the remaining six classes will then take place on Friday, with semi-mains and then the 26th Annual Tulsa Shootout championship feature events on Saturday.

The current entry count stands at a total of 571 from 22 different states as well as Canada and New Zealand, with the final number expected to be approximately 700. The Outlaw, “A” Class and Non-Wing divisions each have in excess of 100 entries.

Grandstand tickets are available for Friday’s action for $15, with Saturday’s grandstands tickets just $20. Children ages 6-11 are just $5 each day. After Thursday night’s Non-Wing Outlaw and “A” Class heat races, approximately 80-90 more heat races and qualifiers on Friday will set the stage for Saturday’s semi-mains and main events. Racing action goes green at 9:00 a.m. on both Friday and Saturday, with Saturday’s championship feature events slated for approximately 7:00 p.m.
