Bio

Tristan started racing go karts when he was 3 in the Colorado region. The 50cc Comer class requires that drivers cannot race until they are at least 5 years old. Practice was priority to build the experience needed to compete when he was old enough. When Tristan turned 5 he dominated 4 years in a row for track champion across Colorado. The Triple Threat Racing Team formed with Tristan, Josh Ullstrom, and Rodney Ullstrom. Grandpa, Bob Ullstrom, was always wrenching on the karts with Rodney to ensure Josh and Tristan could do everything in their power to drive to the front of the field and get the win. It was a family effort to coordinate everything to make sure nothing was missed. Mom, Denise Ullstrom, made sure everything was prepped and ready to go for the family at the track. Due to politics that were occurring at the track it made the most amount of sense to take a set back.

Tristan began driving again in 2012. Racing on dirt versus pavement is a big transition. After a half a season in the sport compacts the realization to move to a faster class seemed necessary. After two year in dwarf cars Tristan had a very vicious wreck at El Paso County Raceway hitting the back stretch wall head on. It was a bit of a recovery, but finished out the season before moving into 270 micro sprints. Austin Ullstrom had become old enough to race with Tristan when making this switch, but after countless amounts of issues and blowing up of motors it was time to step away from the 270 micros.

The family packed up the car and headed down to Tulsa Oklahoma to help and watch Mike Snelling and Tim Snelling at the Tulsa Shootout. After a week in Tulsa the Mile High Micro Sprints began and it was decided that the Ullstrom's would start the 600 micro sprint class in Colorado. It was affordable, a stepping stone for younger kid drivers getting into Sprint Cars or Midgets, and it was a national class. It was only 4 to 6 cars for most of the first year, but with Joe Bellm, the track promoter for El Paso County Raceway, being patient with us we knew this class could grow. The following year the class grew to approximately 10 cars. The tribulations of starting a new class was truly experienced this year. Line by line the rules were went through over and over again. It had reached the point where it made the most amount of sense to partner with NOW600. 2018 was the first year running as NOW 600 Mile High Region and now with having the bugs worked out with a fresh class it is time for the Ullstrom's to put their heads down, hone in, and align themselves for the win. Running D1 Driven Chassis in the 2019 with Tristan, Austin, and Chance Ullstrom it will be an exciting season.
