Bio

Bryce Comer is 15 years old and competes full time in winged and non-winged micro sprint cars. Bryce previously excelled at playing baseball and had been playing since he was 5 years old. He was selected to the All-Star team 2 years in a row when he was 8-10 years old. Bryce was also voted team captain and helped lead his team to win both a state qualifier and a district championship which advanced his team to the state championship.

During the Fall of 2017, while playing for his travel baseball team, Bryce was diagnosed with Tourette's Syndrome. Bryce had developed involuntary physical and vocal actions called “tics." The tics became so severe that it affected his ability to play baseball, so it was decided to pull him out of the sport due to safety concerns. This was very hard on him.

In the Spring of 2018, a neighbor asked if Bryce wanted to try racing a go kart. Bryce was known as a kid with no fear and was always open to new things. So of course, he said yes. There was much doubt to whether he would be able to safely race a kart due to his extreme physical tics. To everyone's surprise, Bryce's tics didn't affect his driving much at all. In fact, they almost went completely away the entire time he was racing the kart. Bryce's ability to be extremely consistent from lap to lap, right from the start, was something very surprising. This was exciting for Bryce because he had finally found something that he was passionate about to replace his love for baseball, and which also helped keep his Tourette's under control. In fact, while racing, his tics almost go completely away. Instead of trying to hide it, he embraced his Tourette's and started running the hashtag #racingfortourettes to help raise awareness. He also picked up the nickname “the tic" which was a play on his involuntary motor movements called “tics."

From the Fall of 2018 to August of 2021 Bryce raced karts on both dirt and asphalt. He won numerous races and had a large number of podium finishes. He also won several different track and series championships.
In August of 2021 he moved up to racing micro sprints exclusively. Since moving into micro sprints Bryce has picked up numerous wins at various tracks and had the opportunity to compete at several large events including the C. Bell's Micro Mania at Lil' Texas Motor Speedway and the 2023 Tulsa Shoot Out. He was also the 2022 micro sprint track champion at East Bay Raceway Park.

In 2023 he will also have the opportunity to hop in the seat of a Top Gun Limited 360 Sprint Car for about 6 races.
