Bio

Vito "the Torpedo" Cancilla has raced full-time since he was eight, winning Quarter Midget races across the western United States in classes such as Jr. Honda and Jr. Animal.

He moved to Jr. Sprints in the Micro Sprint ranks the following year with success, winning a qualifier in his first try at the prestigious Tulsa Shootout in Oklahoma. After scoring Rookie of the Year at Dixon Speedway, the attention turned to even greater challenges with the move to asphalt Jr. Late Models.

Cancilla became the youngest Jr. Late Model winner in the country when he won twice at All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif. in his 350 horsepower Chevrolet Camaro at just 10 years old. He also completed a successful rookie season in the 51FIFTY Jr. Late Models at Madera Speedway, participating in 70-lap races televised on MAVTV. He spent the off season honing his craft in INEX Legends cars on the road course at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, again as one of the youngest drivers in his field.

In 2023, Vito Cancilla competed full time in Jr Late Models with Nascimento Motorsports. Vito also continued select legend car races and went East a couple times to drive the 35 pro late model cars from Travis Kvapil.

in 2024, Vito Cancilla will compete in the Mission Foods Pro Late Models and Super Late Models on Madera speedway. In addition, Vito is driving Setzer Racing and Development number 4 car in select few Carolinas Pro Late Models.
