Twenty-One Take Golden Drillers in Tulsa Shootout as Bacon Sizzles in Headliner
TULSA, Okla. (December 30, 2007) – With well over 1,000 entries from 25 different states descending upon Tulsa Expo Raceway's ¼-mile clay oval inside the QuikTrip Center for the 23rd Annual Tulsa Shootout, the cream of the crop ultimately rose to the top with 21 different drivers snaring Golden Driller trophies in Sunday night's 24 feature events.

Tulsa-area racer Brady Bacon, a driver for Kasey Kahne Racing on the USAC Sprint Car and Midget circuits, took top honors in the headliner portion of Micro Sprint action by topping the 25-lap 600cc Multi main event, with Iowa's Kyle Heitz the only driver to post multiple wins in Kart action. South Dakota's Michael Coburn and Tulsa's Corey Snapp swept the Pro and Amateur Quad ranks, respectively.

After 145 heat races were completed during Saturday's racing action, another 52 semi-mains and 27 main events on Sunday brought the curtains down on the 23rd Annual Tulsa Shootout, which attracted 1,030 entries, including 465 Karts, 428 Micro Sprints and 137 Quads.

23rd Annual Tulsa Shootout This Weekend!
Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (December 27, 2007) – The 2007 racing season is set to end on a high note, as the 23rd Annual Tulsa Shootout will attract approximately 1,000 racing entries from throughout the nation to the Tulsa Expo Raceway inside the QuikTrip Center at the Tulsa State Fairgrounds this weekend.

A prelude to the upcoming 22nd Annual Dodge Chili Bowl Midget Nationals, the Tulsa Shootout features the up-and-coming stars of tomorrow along with some already established veterans in a wild mix of Micro Sprint Cars, Go Karts and Quads.

Following Friday's practice, action kicks off on Saturday morning with Micro and Quad heats firing off at 9:00 a.m. with Kart heats to follow. Semi-mains get under way at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, with the Tulsa Shootout championship main events going green at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday evening.

Currently, approximately 400 Micro Sprints are entered in five classes, approximately 400 Karts are entered in 15 classes and approximately 100 Quads are entered in four classes. Another 100 to 200 walk-up entries will bring the final total of entries to well over 1,000.

More than a dozen drivers will use the Micro Sprint portion of the Tulsa Shootout to tune up for the upcoming Chili Bowl Nationals, which takes place January 8-12, 2008. Among those are World of Outlaws ace Terry McCarl (taking on the Non-Wing division) and Tulsa-area hotshoes Brady Bacon, Donnie Ray Crawford ("A" Class and Non-Wing winner last year before finishing fifth in Chili Bowl) and defending 600-cc Multi champion Jerrod Wilson.

Other defending Micro Sprint Tulsa Shootout winners include ASCS2 Restricted "A" Class champion Tanner Mullens of Kansas and Junior Sprint winner Drew Marshall of Illinois, who not only defends his Junior Sprint title but takes on the Restricted "A" Class this year.

Nebraskans Garrett Swiggart and Jody Krug along with Iowa's Cayden Carter each pulled off double wins in the Karts last year and will be back to chase down more Golden Drillers in the Karting ranks.

Tulsa's Chase Snapp, who swept both the 250-cc and Open portions of Amateur Quad action in last year's Tulsa Shootout, makes the move to the Pro Quad ranks this year. South Dakota's Michael Coburn swept both portions of last year's Pro Quad action.

Saturday's heat race action is pit passes only at just $20 each, with pit passes $30 on Sunday. General admission for Sunday evening's 23rd Annual Tulsa Shootout championship main events is $15 for general admission.

Sixteen Take Honors in 22nd Annual Tulsa Shootout
TULSA, Okla. (December 30, 2006) - Sixteen different racers from ten different states proved to be the cream of the crop by walking away from Saturday nights' 22nd Annual Tulsa Shootout presented by Brodix finale at Tulsa Expo Raceway with a coveted Golden Driller trophy among their latest possessions.

A half dozen competitors among the nearly 1,100 entries doubled up by scoring a pair of wins in the 22 feature events for Micros, Karts and Quads.

Broken Arrow, Oklahoma's Donnie Ray Crawford scored a pair of Micro wins and was bidding for a third before settling for runner-up honors behind Jerrod Wilson in the headline 600cc Multi class division, which attracted a record 130 entries.

Nebraska racers Garrett Swiggart and Jody Krug, along with young Iowa shoe Cayden Carter, each scored a pair of victories in Kart action, while Michael Coburn and Chase Snapp swept the Pro and Amateur portions of the Quad competition, respectively.

22 Capture Golden Driller Trophies in Tulsa Shootout
TULSA, Okla. (December 31, 2005) – Twenty-two different drivers representing ten different states raced to victory lane in Saturday night’s 21st Annual Tulsa Shootout presented by O’Reilly’s and Brodix at Tulsa Expo Raceway.

The 21st Annual Tulsa Shootout presented by O’Reilly’s and Brodix attracted 1,097 entries from 35 different states. A total of 234 races were contested over the course of the two-day event, including 153 heat races, 58 semi-features and 23 “A” Mains. A total of 2,086 laps of green flag laps of racing were completed.

    Top five in each "A" Feature immediately to scales. The winner draws two numbers (2, 3, 4 or 5), those two in the respective finishing positions will be teched along with the winner. Engines will be pulled out of car in the tech area. Two (2) people per car in tech area only!
